Most people get very agitated and frightened when they see bleeding hemorrhoids in the rectum. Especially if it's their first time.

If the blood is bright red and it is directly in the pan or in the stools, you probably have got internal hemorrhoids bleeding.
If the blood is bright red and is mainly on the toilet paper. You can feel an obstruction on your anus. You probably have got external hemorrhoids bleeding.
The important thing is that the blood must be bright red. This bright red blood in most cases is a sign of hemorrhoids.
N.B. Not all of the time
This is how they behave normally. They will swell up forming a pocket of blood, then when you exert pressure on them .
Usually caused from passing a bowel movement.
It is also very common that hemorrhoids bleed for weeks.
If left unattended they can cause more discomfort and could become infected. So it is best to treat the hemorrhoids immediately.
I will however be repetitive and say one more time that if you are bleeding from the anus and you are not certain what is causing this bleeding
You should get yourself to a professional immediately so that you can ascertain yourself as to what is causing you this bleeding.
Even more importantly if you suspect to be suffering from internal hemorrhoids.
